A heritage that stands the test of time
After World War II, Don Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and Col. Joseph McMicking began the 25-year urban development program of the original Hacienda Makati, starting with Forbes Park. Families from war-ravaged Manila were the first residents of the new neighborhood.
In the years that followed, additional villages were developed, such as Dasmarinas, Urdaneta, San Lorenzo, and Magallanes. A shopping district, now known as Ayala Center, was built to support the needs of these growing communities. In the 1970s, another milestone was reached with the acquisition of a large tract of land in Muntinlupa. This was developed into a self-contained community called Ayala Alabang. The push further south continued in the late 1990s with the opening of Ayala Westgrove Heights, a move that accelerated the development of the Cavite/Laguna area into a desirable residential address. Westgrove was quickly followed by Ayala Greenfield Estates -- a scenic neighborhood with its own private country club and golf course. Abrio occupies a highly strategic location within Nuvali-close to the planned business district, retail center, and lake of the future ecopolis. Getting to Nuvali takes about 50 minutes by car from Makati through the Sta. Rosa Exit of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
